All graduates of our June 2014 CRW Class found employment before or soon after graduation.

Not much has changed since originally posted as we still need more students for our Community Residential Worker program. With a starting wage of $19.30 per hour. Back then, (May 2014), we received communication from a number of our major Industry Partners, (training partners), for our Community Residential Worker Program, (CRW). They expressed an increase in demand for CRW workers. That need continues today.

Each expressed that they were experiencing a shortage of CRW’s within their organization and that their need will continue to increase for the foreseeable future.

They have asked us at Island Career Academy to consider, either increasing our enrolment numbers, (which we currently limit according to industry need), or to offer a second intake for the program in the upcoming year.

Graduate CRW’s can expect employment opportunities that include benefits and starting wages in the area of $19.30 per hour. Train to work in small option and group homes, respite care, public and private social services agencies, adult vocational centers, and educational settings.
